Patric Gagne Husband David, Love Life And Family

Who said sociopaths don’t get married and have a family? Patric Gagne is the perfect example of this. She has been happily married to her husband David and has two adorable kids

Patric Gagne is a well-known writer, a therapist, and an advocate for people with sociopathic personality disorder.

She herself was diagnosed with this disorder in her twenties. Instead of accepting the notion that there was no treatment, she challenged it.

Patric believes that not all people with this diagnosis are monsters. She has written a book about her journey called “Sociopath: A Memoir”.

Many eagerly anticipated this book, and it was published by Simon & Schuster in April 2024.

Patric Gagne Husband: She Has Been Married To David Since 2007

Patric Gagne shares a blissful marital life with her husband, David. The lovely couple tied the knot on 10 October 2007.

Since then, they have been merrily together. The smitten pair are also proud parents of two adorable kids, a daughter and a son.

Patric, who has a Ph.D. in psychology, admitted that her insincerity, emotional poverty, absence of shame and guilt, and reduced empathic response wouldn’t exactly land her in the “dream girl” category.

The therapist and her spouse knew one another for a long time and he was already familiar with her wrong side.

According to Patric, her husband remained in denial for years and thought that there was no psychological problem with her.

Regardless of everything, the pair is still in love, and their marriage is going as solid as rock.

The Couple Dated During Their High School Days

Patric Gagne revealed that she and her husband, David, grew up together in the same neighborhood.

The pair attended the same high school and dated one another at the time.

However, their relationship didn’t last long. David and Patric parted ways but found each other again after college. They have been together since then.

In an interview with The New York Times, the therapist said that she knew at first sight that David was going to be an important person in her life.

However, she also revealed that her heart never fluttered and she didn’t have butterflies.

“But I didn’t have those sweeping romantic, flowery emotions affiliated with that experience.”

“That was the same when I first met my son. Now I just think he’s a great kid!” Gagne added.

Turns Out There Is Advantage Of Being Married To A Sociopath

It turns out being married to a sociopath can have its own benefits as they don’t get jealous even if you like someone else.

Gagne once revealed that her long-time spouse, David, had developed a crush on a female colleague at work. The author said it was obvious, as the woman was everything that she was not – kind compassionate, and thoughtful.

But as an individual with sociopathic personality disorder, Gagne doesn’t take such things personally, and David is aware of this.

She further revealed that her hubby knew that if he were to tell her that he liked her, she would listen and relate without reaction.

“I might even end up helping him shed some of his Catholic-school guilt. All he had to do was be honest,” added the therapist.
