Louise’s body revolted for the first seven years after her daughter was born. She suffered from acromegaly, a rare condition that changed her appearance.

Her hands started swelling, forcing her to remove the tight and painful rings on her fingers. Likewise, her feet began to hurt badly when she got out of bed in the morning.

She couldn’t understand what was going on with her body and felt sad most of the time. Her general practitioner sent her for rheumatoid arthritis scans.

An acclaimed dog behaviorist expressed,

What still angers me is that male GPs fob women off because of having children. Would I have been taken more seriously, I wonder, if I’d been a man?

Louise’s ankles gradually started swelling, and she barely recognized her appearance.

Her nose was bigger, her hair grew like a bush, and she always struggled with tiredness.

Likewise, her swollen tongue blocked her airways, and she discovered that she had the equivalent of sleep apnoea.

During her recovery, she founded The Wonder Club to help dog owners worldwide virtually when she couldn’t work one-on-one.

She went through a critical five-hour operation to remove the tumor in May 2022.
