Liz Storer is married to Luther Propst, her husband of more than 25 years. Luther is passionate about promoting balanced and responsible growth in rural and mountain communities across the American West.
In 2018, Luther was elected as a Teton County Commissioner, where he focuses on making sure land is used sustainably in the area. Luther studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning degrees in undergraduate studies, law, and regional planning.
Luther loves exploring the wild areas of Teton County, Greater Yellowstone, and other places. Whether it’s walking, skiing, cycling, fishing, kayaking, or pack rafting, he finds joy in connecting with nature.
In 1991, Luther founded the Sonoran Institute, a non-profit organization aiming to improve life in Western communities by connecting people with their natural surroundings. Until 2012, Luther worked tirelessly as the institute’s Executive Director, promoting sustainable land use practices.
Since 2008, Luther has volunteered and consulted for various organizations focusing on conservation, smart growth, and outdoor recreation. He shares his knowledge and experience, mentoring policy innovators and emerging leaders to help them reach their goals.
Luther holds leadership roles, heading the board of the Outdoor Alliance—a coalition working to protect public lands and waters—and serving on the George B. Storer Foundation board, a non-profit supporting conservation effort.
