It wasn’t until the landmark 2022 Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson, which overturned Roe v. Wade, that Duvall found the strength to share her story publicly.

The ruling deeply resonated with Duvall, and in June 2022, she posted on Instagram for the first time about her experience:

The same week this photo was taken, I also had just taken my first pregnancy test. It was positive. Was I sexually active? No. I was impregnated from being raped by my stepfather at the time. Thankfully, I had my CHOICE. I never had to go through with my decision, but I would have. I couldn’t imagine not having that choice. & if you can look at a CHILD & tell them they have to carry their parent’s child, you are sick.

This revelation added a deeply personal perspective to the national conversation on abortion rights and the importance of bodily autonomy.

However, in 2024, Duvall achieved a significant milestone by graduating from Midway University with a degree in psychology, concentrating on alcohol and drug counseling.
