Donnell Rawlings And His Brother Dwayne Rawlings Grew Up In A Religious Family

Donnell Rawlings doesn’t talk much about his brother, Dwayne Rawlings. But in 2014, he broke his silence and told people that Dwayne is gay.

The comic showed his backing in a tweet and showed his pride in his brother’s identity. He wrote,

“I have a Gay brother so when you shit on HIM you shit on me!”

Unfortunately, apart from this tweet, there is no other proof of Dwayne’s sexuality. Therefore, one must rely on his statements.

Since Donnell makes jokes for a living, there’s a slight chance the tweet was just for laughs, but he hasn’t said anything to clarify this.

Similarly, in a Facebook post, Donnell let slip that he’s the younger of the two brothers. This happened when he said happy birthday to Dwayne on September 19, 2016. Besides these few mentions, we don’t know much about Dwayne’s life.

Nevertheless, Donnell has opened up about their early life with their parents. Specifically, in a sit-down, the comedian shared about his upbringing in a religious home.

Donnell mentioned that his mom was very devout and religious, and his mother got that belief from his grandma.

He praised them, mentioned they were working, and gave their family time.

Moreover, while discussing them, Donnell noted that “women were cut from a different cloth altogether.

Talking about Donnell’s father, he is no longer between us. He lost his dad, Charles “Box” Greer, on February 15, 2018. A year later, he shared his thoughts about him on his Facebook account.

He wrote

” I lost my Dad, it still feels like he’s here but i cant talk to him, feels like he’s here, but i cant see him, feels like he’s here but i cant touch him , he is here and he’s in my heart”

He went on to say,

“if you are lucky enough to still have your parents in your life, do everything to create those memories even up to the very end, love you dad”

Speaking more about his early life, Donnell was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. There, he attended T.C. Williams High School.
