Despite circulating rumors and viral images suggesting a conversion, Drogba himself has denied any change in his religious beliefs about converting from Christianity to Islam.
In a tweet, Didier Drogba, the football legend from Ivory Coast, explained that the pictures of him praying didn’t mean he changed his beliefs.

Instead, he was just showing respect to his Muslim brothers during a visit to his village.

At the age of five, Drogba’s parents sent him to France to live with his uncle, Michel Goba, a professional footballer. However, Drogba, feeling nostalgic, returned to Abidjan after three years.
Known affectionately as “Tito,” a nickname given by his mother after President Josip Broz Tito of Yugoslavia, Drogba’s early passion for football was evident as he played regularly in a city car park in Côte d’Ivoire.
Yet, due to his parents losing their jobs, he had to return to France, living with his uncle once again.
In 1991, his parents also moved to France, settling near Paris. Drogba, then 15 years old, rejoined his family and started playing team football more frequently, joining a local youth side.
